Housing Partnership Network and ProdigyLink Join Forces to Accelerate Water Resilience, Reduce Costs in Multifamily Housing
The Housing Partnership Network (HPN) is thrilled to announce a strategic collaboration with ProdigyLink, the leading solution provider integrating water utility, water loss, and water asset management solutions, to accelerate water resilience and reduce costs in the affordable housing sector. Through this partnership, HPN and ProdigyLink will work together to expand the availability of innovative water management solutions that reduce operating costs and advance sustainability results. By leveraging ProdigyLink’s advanced, proprietary technology and unique approach to understanding the needs of each community, HPN will help its members minimize water as a risk to preserving affordable housing.
“We are excited to partner with ProdigyLink to address critical water challenges across the affordable housing sector at scale,” said Robin Hughes, HPN’s Chief Executive Officer. “Some of our members are already benefiting from ProdigyLink’s services and realizing significant savings and benefits. We see incredible potential ahead for how we help our members, together,” Hughes commented. “In Baltimore, MD, ProdigyLink helped Homes for America reduce water and sewer costs by over 50% at a 154-unit senior community, and in a 189-unit family community, ProdigyLink’s technology enabled Homes for America to detect a chiller leak that would have cost tens of thousands of dollars had it not been caught in time. ProdigyLink is now supporting Homes for America across its portfolio.”
“With the many stressors on our operating portfolio, we value our partnership with ProdigyLink,” said Dana Johnson, President and CEO at Homes for America. “They bring technology, data, and great customer service to enable us to identify and implement strategies to reduce water costs and improve operating performance and NOI.”
Affordable housing providers are struggling with increases in operational costs, stemming from water and sewer consumption, interior water leaks and overflows, and property insurance premiums all increasing at an unsustainable rate. Addressing these rising costs is critical and time sensitive. Property damage in Multifamily properties, both existing and new, can often result in displacement of residents and increasing costs of insurance.
“The oversight and use of water technology from ProdigyLink will have a positive effect upon resident displacement and property insurance claims, resulting in lower insurance costs over time,” said Brendan Dolan, President of HPIEx Insurance. “In 2022 and 2023 with roughly 100k units, HPIEx members sustained over 430 water losses with incurred claims over $14 million. The total costs of water damage remediation far exceeded this figure.”
“This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision to accelerate water resilience today to preserve affordable housing for tomorrow,” remarked Laura Sardilli, Founder and CEO of ProdigyLink. “By pairing real-time water data with proven and impactful solutions, we are uniquely positioned to help organizations across the country get ahead of costly issues before they become bigger problems and deliver sustainable solutions for these important and often underserved communities.”
