Leading Homeownership Groups Continue Nationwide Focus on Sustainable Homeownership

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HPF) and Framework® today announced enhancements to their partnership aimed at providing online home-buyer education nationwide to homebuyers. The Framework platform will now allow consumers to connect to an HPF housing expert, further enhancing the robust educational experience. Additionally, consumers will be able to access the platform via HPF’s new homebuying website, www.995HOME.org. Since 2014, HPF and Framework have partnered together to help prospective homebuyers increase their knowledge about the homebuying process and become prepared for successful and sustainable homeownership.

Framework is an educational platform that enables prospective homebuyers to learn about the purchase process online, at their own pace, with access to trained professionals across nine learning modules. The course exceeds National Industry Standards for home-buyer and digital education, and is a joint effort of the Minnesota Homeownership Center and Housing Partnership Network, a business collaborative of the nation’s leading affordable housing and community development nonprofits, which sponsors and operates Framework.

“The integration of housing counseling and technology is a highly efficient and effective way to prepare consumers for sustainable homeownership,” said HPF CEO David Berenbaum. “Buying a house is typically the investment of a lifetime, and one that can become emotional in a way that can cloud good financial judgment. Our HOME website, 995home.org, is filled with a plethora of tools and resources that will help the next generation of homeowners and boomerang borrowers navigate through the homebuying process. Combining Framework with HPF’s Gold Standard of Counseling and Financial Coaching ensures that prospective homebuyers are not only armed with important knowledge about purchasing a home, but also equipped to use it effectively.”

“Collaborating with strong national partners like the Homeownership Preservation Foundation is central to our mission to encourage and support successful and sustainable homeownership,” said Danielle Samalin, president of Framework at Housing Partnership Network. “The rules of the game may have changed but educating prospective homebuyers about the process will continue to pay dividends for both lenders and homebuyers. Framework is laser focused on enabling would-be homebuyers to go into process with their eyes open. HPF shares this deep commitment to homeownership and we are excited to expand our partnership.”

Combining HPF’s expert housing counselors with Framework’s engaging online format continues to appeal to a wide spectrum of prospective homebuyers, allowing them to learn in mutually supportive ways. In addition, the expanded partnership with Framework allows HPF to continue providing services nationwide, throughout all stages of homeownership. More than 120 lending and real estate partners have approved Framework, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo and several Federal Home Loan Banks, and HPF looks forward to continued success with this partnership.
