Dear members,

Excitement, engagement, and energy were ever-present over three amazing days at the fall member meeting in Denver. We welcomed a record-breaking 225 members representing 82 organizations -- including 55 CEOs. Thanks to all who attended and for making my first member meeting as CEO of your member network a big success!

Inspiring was the range of new faces, voices, diversity, and perspectives. Of note, present were 68 first-time attendees, five new member organizations, and BIPOC CEO representation is at its highest point ever. Today, forty leaders identifying as a person of color represent 36 percent of the total membership – up from one-fifth only three years ago.

Early feedback on the peer exchange and collaborative format allowed for deep member engagement around timely and critical topics for you and your organizations. Some highlights include:

  • Courageous discussion around racial equity, diversity, and inclusion and a new HPN and Member Equity Statement and Pledge at the CEO Forum, with a goal of having the full membership sign on by the next member meeting.
  • A rousing conversation between me and Cedric Bobo, president and co-founder of Project Destined, a partner in our newest social enterprise, the Affordable Housing Bridge Program (now known as the Next Gen Talent Academy), to attract new diverse talent to the sector. Immediately after, 29 members registered an interest in participating! Sign up here to join them in building the next generation of talent.

  • The next era of innovation and members’ testimonials on the impact of our collective social innovation and enterprises in scaling their success. Thank you for your robust participation during the breakout brainstorming sessions – our Innovation team will take your ideas and concepts to research, develop and deliver the next era of social enterprises to support the network.

As we all know, when we come together as a collective, our impact is more powerful.

Save the Date!

We look forward to seeing you at the spring meeting in Chicago, where we will also celebrate our 30th anniversary as a network of strong, independent organizations that do more together than we can possibly do alone. Mark your calendar for May 31 - June 2, 2023.

Deepest appreciation,

Robin
