Improved economy, opportunity, education, and public health begins with stable homes
We catalyze innovative, market-level change in order to scale community impact and build more stable homes in America.
The housing market is a big place and making a positive impact requires focus. We approach the housing industry through our unique lens as 100 of the leading regional nonprofit affordable housing developers. Together, we identify gaps, define opportunities and create solutions.
As individual organizations, HPN members change communities and people’s lives for the better. As a network, we change the larger market systems and value chains in which we operate in order to be more efficient, more sustainable and better positioned to achieve scaled impact.
We create impact on four levels
HPN social enterprises have four dimensions or levels of impact. Although each venture we pursue may affect them in varying degrees, it is the ability of our enterprises to touch all four levels that give them their catalytic and exponential impact.
changing market systems
We created Housing Partnership Equity Trust to provide nonprofits with access to fast capital. As a real estate investment trust, HPET allows nonprofit affordable housing developers to compete with commercial developers for properties.
strengthening members
In order for the Housing Partnership Insurance Exchange to keep rates low and increase the return on shares, members operate using shared best practices to reduce risk.
improving communities
Develop Detroit fills a critical gap in Detroit for a high performing nonprofit developer addressing the need for more high-quality, well-maintained homes.
growing opportunity
Since 2012, over 100,000 home buyers have participated in Framework's online education platform to become smart home owners.
