This spreadsheet is a list of all the Congressional staff who currently work on tax issues. Locate the staffers in your congressional districts to increase the chances of your message about the tax bill getting to the right people quickly.
Here are some talking points to get you started:
House of Representatives:
- Ask members to vote NO on H.R. 1 on the floor as long as it contains provisions to repeal private activity bonds and end the New Markets Tax credit program.
- Ask members to support any amendments that would retain tax exempt private activity bonds, strengthen the LIHTC program or restore the New Markets Tax Credit program.
Senate:
- Express your support for the inclusion of LIHTC, private activity bonds and NMTC in the Chairman’s Mark.
- Ask that your Senator continue to fight to preserve and strengthen LIHTC and NMTC and retain private activity bonds.
