Chuck Wehrwein
Chuck Wehrwein oversees operations of HPN’s social enterprises, accelerating and scaling new social enterprises, and strategic business partnerships. He also serves as a member of HPN’s executive leadership team.
A recognized leader in the housing and community development sector, Chuck has held a number of senior-level roles throughout his career, including COO of NeighborWorks America; SVP Real Estate Investments and Strategic Development Initiatives at member organization Mercy Housing; COO of of the National Equity Fund; CFO of Thrush Development Company; Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multifamily Housing at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; and Deputy Administrator for Multifamily Housing at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Housing Service.
Chuck has worked with and for HPN in a number of roles, most recently as COO (2017-2024), but also as a member, board member, and prior stint as executive team member (2007-2012) where he was instrumental in managing growth and development of an award-winning business collaborative, the Housing Partnership Insurance Exchange.
Chuck earned a bachelor's degree from University of Illinois Chicago and an M.B.A. from DePaul University. He is also a certified public accountant.
