About Preservation of Affordable Housing
Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) is a nonprofit organization that preserves, creates and restores affordable rental homes for low- and moderate-income individuals, seniors, and families. We believe that offering our residents safe, healthy, and affordable housing improves their quality of life and inspires thriving communities. POAH owns and operates over 11,500 affordable homes at 120 properties in eleven states and the District of Columbia. POAH has rescued and restored some of America's most 'at risk' rental housing. We are known nationally for our ability to develop innovative financing structures and to close complex deals which preserve long-term housing affordability.
POAH is committed to greening its properties by pairing stewardship with environmental responsibility. Eco-friendly modernizations not only increase resident comfort but also pave the way for long-term savings, in addition to being good a business practice and consistent with our mission.
Our property management company, POAH Communities oversees the leasing and operations of our properties and provides services and develops partnerships that improve the lives of our residents and communities. POAH Communities provides high-quality property management and customer service to our residents, connecting them with the opportunities and partnerships that improve their quality of life.
