About Metro Housing Boston (formerly MBHP)

Metro Housing Boston is the state's largest regional provider of rental housing voucher assistance. We serve homeless, elderly, disabled, and individuals and families who have low and moderate incomes. Our region spans Boston and 32 surrounding communities. Our mission is to mobilize wide-ranging resources to provide innovative and personalized services that lead families and individuals to housing stability, economic security, and an improved quality of life. We work collaboratively with a broad array of service providers and neighborhood-based organizations. We believe that everyone deserves a place to call home. Founded in 1983, Metro Housing Boston served as a national model for collaboration among business, community and government to create affordable housing and promote resident involvement. Metro Housing Boston administers 10,000 rental vouchers and provides client services (housing search, stabilization, foreclosure prevention, information and referral) to more than 12,000 greater Boston families a year.
