About Housing Assistance Corporation

Since 1974, Housing Assistance Corporation has worked to make safe, stable housing available for all on Cape Cod and the Islands.

Today, Housing Assistance offers a continuum of housing programs that evolve with the changing needs of the Cape and Islands. Housing Assistance educates, trains and counsels with our consumer education department; weatherizes and conducts energy rehabs for low-income single family and multi-family properties; develops affordable housing for seniors, families, and our workforce; and provides an opportunity to become a homeowner with a full-service nonprofit real estate office. Housing Assistance also provides emergency shelter, homeless outreach, and homelessness prevention assistance for individuals and families; administers the largest housing subsidy program in our region; and manages the HUD-funded Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program.

In 2020, Housing Assistance served nearly 6,200 households on Cape Cod and the Islands. Housing Assistance Corporation is one of 11 member agencies of the statewide Regional Housing Network of Massachusetts and serves as the Housing Consumer Education Center for Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket.
