About Evernorth

Evernorth (EN) is a nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing and community investments in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. EN is deeply knowledgeable of local markets, has close connections with local and regional organizations, and understands the policy and regulatory framework guiding affordable housing and community development across northern New England.

With offices in Portland, ME and Burlington, VT, EN raises capital, invests in and builds affordable housing, strengthens our economy, and improves our environment through energy efficiency. EN has raised and deployed over $1B in equity capital for affordable housing and built more than 12,550 affordable homes and apartments for low- and moderate-income people across our region.

Evernorth Rural Ventures (ERV), a qualified CDE, is our New Markets Tax Credit program. ERV uses its NMTC resources to support investment in the economic, environmental, and social well-being of northern New England communities and regional economies. Since its inception in 2008, ERV has created favorable financing in excess of $199M for 24 economic development projects in low income areas, resulting in nearly 2900 new permanent and retained jobs.

EN Connections is an initiative to improve the social and economic outcomes for residents. EN Connections works with property managers and social service partners at multifamily properties in VT to address critical needs such as childcare, food access, transportation, and education.

EN Energy Services seeks to maximize energy efficiency and optimize building systems. Over the past 5 years, the work of EN Energy Services has saved $1.7M in lower energy costs across 30 properties.
