About DHIC, Inc.

Established in 1974, DHIC, Inc. (formerly Downtown Housing Improvement Corporation) is a non-profit organization and chartered member of NeighborWorks® America. The mission of DHIC is building high quality affordable housing in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina. We provide the following core services to ensure our communities are diverse, economically vibrant, and affordable through: development of rental apartments for working families and seniors with limited incomes; homeownership counseling, education and downpayment assistance programs; construction of affordable homes for sale to first-time homebuyers; and community services that promote healthy neighborhoods, develop resident leadership, encourage resident self-sufficiency and connection to community resources.
