About Chicanos Por La Causa

Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) is a community development corporation (CDC) that provides services in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and California. Since 1969, CPLC has been changing lives by developing self-sufficiency and instilling empowerment in those we serve. Our focus areas are economic development, education, housing, and social services. Today, we have over 50 programs, 1,200 employees, and 60 offices, making CPLC one of the largest Hispanic non-profit’s in the nation. CPLC has launched a variety of programs that support Housing efforts across our five state footprint. CPLC also provides Resident Services Coordination, Health and Housing and Housing Development.
In January 2016 CPLC and United Healthcare launched the myCommunity Connect Center, uniting a variety of health and community services through nonprofit and government providers under one roof to provide integrated, holistic services to the community. The myCommunity ConnectTM Center is part of the myConnectionsTM pilot program, which United Healthcare developed to provide low-income individuals and families with access to essential social, medical and behavioral services that have had a significant impact on their health and quality of life. In 2010, as the lead agency in a 13-member consortium of non-profit community development organizations, CPLC was awarded a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Neighborhood Stabilization II (NSP2) award in the amount of $137-million to stabilize communities impacted by home foreclosure and abandonment. CPLC, as the lead agency, implemented the program activities and protocols between the 13 non-profits across eight states including AZ and the District of Columbia. CPLC continues to leverage the $226K + of program income earned since May 2010.
