Priorities

Our members have identified policy and funding priorities that would enable them to substantially expand their impact. This policy framework offers a new paradigm for expanding the role of high-capacity nonprofits in the production and preservation of affordable housing, the revitalization of neighborhoods, and the creation of economic opportunities for low-income families and individuals. The following represents our policy priorities in 2011 with the goal of fostering a dynamic, self-sustaining, and entrepreneurial nonprofit sector:

  • Provide More Flexibility for Our Members to Operate on an Enterprise Level
  • Identify Flexible Sources of Equity for Mission-Based Lending and Development
  • Reduce the Number of Foreclosures and Stabilize Neighborhoods
  • Promote Policies that Support Affordable Housing Preservation and Production
  • Reinvent the Housing Finance System and Modernize the Community Reinvestment Act.
  • Advance Metropolitan Housing and Development Strategies
