Columbus Housing Partnership, Inc., dba Homeport (Homeport) was established in 1987 through joint efforts of the City of Columbus, The Enterprise Foundation, the Columbus Board of Realtors, and The Columbus Foundation, along with local religious and private sector leaders. From its inception, Homeport has focused its efforts on alleviating the affordable housing crisis in Central Ohio. Through a network of partnerships, Homeport works to generate affordable home ownership and rental housing opportunities for low and moderate income Central Ohio residents. Homeport's vision is that every person lives in a vibrant community where they are empowered to dream and shape their future, and Homeport's mission is to create and preserve healthy, stable and affordable communities, one neighborhood, one person at a time. In addition to the development of affordable housing, Homeport has an array of programs that include Homeport Rental Living, Home Ownership, Community Life Programs, and the Homeport Housing Advisory Center, designed to be a comprehensive solution for addressing the underlying social and economic needs facing individuals and families within Central Ohio neighborhoods.
