Housing Counseling Program
Ivette Morillo joined Housing Partnership Network in September 2015 as a Program Associate with the Housing Counseling Program. In this role, she coordinates counseling peer exchange efforts and the administration of counseling grants from HUD and the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling program.
Before joining HPN, Ivette held two roles with the South Middlesex Opportunity Council. She was a Homeownership Coordinator responsible for teaching first-time home buyer classes, creating and implementing financial literacy classes and curricula, teaching a housing search skills course, and providing instruction on foreclosure prevention and loss mitigation. She also served as a Case Manager, providing on-going case management to 26 families in the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program.
Previously, Ivette performed analysis of the foreclosure crisis and the importance of homebuyer education as an intern with the Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services. She assessed use of the Community Reinvestment Act in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and held an internship with the Boston Business Improvement District, where she examined the use of art as well as neighborhood walkability.
Ivette graduated from Westfield State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Regional Planning, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ethnics and Gender Studies. She is fluent in Spanish and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
