In his senior leadership role with the Housing Partnership Network, Dan Futrell oversees operations, strategy, and data across the network. He plays a key role in ensuring the organization has the tools, systems, and people to execute effectively and to allow the organization and its staff to perform at their best. Dan began his role with HPN in January, 2017.

Dan brings over ten years of cross sector leadership to this role, including two years leading the development of data analytics products for a major technology company. Prior to this, Dan served as Director of Operations and Strategy for the workforce development nonprofit Year Up, helping to grow the organization’s Boston site by 50%.

He also served five years in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Ranger-qualified Infantry Captain, holding leadership positions of platoon leader, company commander, and aide to a Corps Chief of Staff. During this time, he deployed twice to Iraq for a total 27 months and led more than 400 combat missions for which he was twice awarded the Bronze Star Medal and a Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

Locally, Dan is serving his fourth year as an elected official on the Somerville School Committee, currently as chair of the Finance Subcommittee, and is the President of the Board for the Community Action Agency of Somerville, an anti-poverty CAP agency serving Somerville and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dan holds a bachelors in business from Gonzaga University, and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University as a Tillman Scholar.
